Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) Ordinance Status

At the February 25, CPAC Chair Meeting held at the Department of Planning and Development, Butch Parker – Director,  indicated that one of the priorities for his department this year would be to complete the ADU ordinance and will send it on to the Board of Commissioners for approval.   Although no time frame was discussed,  the public would have a chance to provide opinion at the Board of Commissioners meeting.

The Task Force will be holding a meeting sometime in the near future so the final draft can be reviewed by the public and by the CPAC’s.  The Task Force met with sewer and water authorities in South Tillamook County and have done some research with other communities who have adopted this type of ordinance.   The only change to the ordinance is that any ADU would be a ‘conditional use for all building zones in Tillamook County.   This would assure that each application will be reviewed and approved.
