Update on ADU – Accessory Dwelling Unit Ordinance

At the November 21, 2011 CPAC Meeting held at the Kiawanda Community Center,  the Pacific City/Woods CPAC voted to oppose the adoption of the Odinance 4.150: Accessory Housing.   The motion “ The Pacific City-Woods CPAC recommends opposition to adoption of Ordinance 4.50: Accessory Housing, and if passed requests that the community of Pacific City-Woods be excluded from its requirements.”   The vote was five (5) in favor of the motion to oppose, two (2) against and two (2) abstaining.

In addition,  a pdf file containing all the pertinent documents to the ADU is attached.   This includes the response to the Tillamook Department of  Community Planning,  meeting notes from the 11-21 CPAC Meeting and the 7-30 All CPAC meeting and feedback from members and community regarding the ADU.

The Planning Commission will be addressing this ordinance at the Planning Commission meeting on December 15, 2011, at the Tillamook County Court House at 7:00 p.m.  Residents and property owners can testify at the meeting or submit their opinion to the Department of Planning and Development and/or the Planning Commission prior to the meeting.  Oral testimony will be taken at the meeting.   Written testimony will be accepted through December 14.  If you wish your written testimony to be included in the packet submitted to the Planning Commission it should be received by the Department of Community Development  1510 B 3rd Street, Tillamook, Oregon 97141 by 4 pm on the date of the hearing (December 15, 2011).

The Tillamook County Commisioners  will hold a public meeting regarding the ADU on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at the County Court House in Conference Rooms A&B.After the Planning Commission addresses this ordinance it will be reviewed by the Planning Commission on  February 22, 2012.
