Pacific City Woods 20-30-40

What do we want our Community to look like in 2020? In 2030? In 2040?
How do we get there?
These are the questions Sean Carlton, Pacific City-Woods CAC Chair, raises for us to address in the coming year.  Please read Pacific City Woods 20-30-40 for a description of the project.  You can use the links provided to read the existing planning documents.  Join us at our monthly meetings to be involved in this important discussion.

Thursday, July 21 Community Plan Meeting Cancelled

The Thursday, July 21, 2016 meeting to discuss the Pacific City-Woods Community Plan has been cancelled due to the death of a close family member of the Tillamook County official coordinating the meeting.  Our condolences to the family.

The meeting will be rescheduled.  We will notify the membership of the new date and time when that information is available.

Come let us know what YOU think!

The first public meeting in the process of reviewing and revising the Pacific City-Woods Community Plan was on April 21, 2016.  About 30-40 of our neighbors were able to attend to contribute their ideas and be part of this important conversation.  One of the key issues we discussed was how to manage the inevitable growth of the Pacific City-Woods community.

We hope you can join us for the next public meeting on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 6:00PM (in conjunction with the Tillamook County Department of Community Development) at the Kiawanda Community Center, 34600 Kiwanda Drive, Pacific City.  At the June 16 meeting we will have a “dot voting” exercise to see how the community feels about several issues related to the future development of the Pacific City-Woods community.  We hope to see you there!

Community Plan/Review Process

After many false starts over the last 10 years, the Pacific City-Woods Citizen Advisory Committee, with support from the Tillamook County Department of Community Development, will be conducting a comprehensive review of the Pacific City-Woods Community Plan.  This process will take several months and is expected to result include a code audit that (more…)

2012-2013 Land Use and Community Plan Review Committees

The CPAC is in the process of confirming membership to the Land Use and Plan Review Committees.

LAND USE:   The Land Use Committee is made up of the five officers and also five CPAC members.   They meet on an adhoc basis when land use applications are submitted to Community Development.   Their purpose is to discuss the merits of the application as related to Pacific City/Woods zoning, the Community Plan and benefits to the Community as a whole.  They formulate a recommendation and present their findings to the CPAC membership at a CPAC general meeting.   A vote is taken whether or not to support the application and that information is sent to the Tillamook County Planning Commission to be entered into the record for that application.

COMMUNITY PLAN REVIEW:  The purpose of this Committee is to update the community plan  – a requirement every 10 years.   The committee has reviewed all pertinent zoning related to Pacific City/Woods and the Tax Lot Inventory  is near completion.     The committee will then submit their changes to Community Development and also hold public meetings to relay the Community Plan changes to residents and property owners of Pacific City/Woods. Lot Inventory Status

First,  we want to thank all the folks who helped with the Lot Inventory.  We appreciate that you took the time to walk through the neighbors and checked out the status of developed and undeveloped lots.   There still are three more areas to go – write Gloria Scullin at scullingb@gmail.com if you would like to help.   It will take an afternoon or two.

The goal will be tally to and summarize the results by the end of March.   In April,  these results will be included in the Community Plan Status Update that is being prepared for a review with Community Development.   Meetings will be held with Community Development in April and then they will be sent to LCDC.  It is estimated that public meetings regarding the changes to the Community Plan will be held in June.

The next meeting of the Community Plan Review Committee will be held on Monday, April 9th.
